SCAM ALERT: Do Not Pay Callers Who Threaten to Arrest You Unless You Pay
Residents of the Northern District of Georgia continue to receive fraudulent phone calls claiming that the victim failed to appear for jury duty in federal court and/or has an arrest warrant or similar adverse situation. The scammer tells the victim that he or she can avoid arrest or other negative consequences by making a payment, which may include purchasing a pre-paid card—such as a Green Dot card or gift card—and then giving the card number to the scammer. Prohibition on Smart Glasses in the Courthouse
Smart glasses, including those with prescription lenses, are prohibited inside the district courthouse pursuant to Local Rule 83.4. If you require corrective lenses, you must wear contact lenses or bring prescription glasses that do not have audio or video recording capability. Any juror who reports for jury service wearing smart glasses that are needed for the juror to see clearly will be required to leave the courthouse and will be reassigned to a future jury term.

Parking is available in the Hall County courthouse parking deck, which is diagonally across from the Sidney O. Smith Jr. Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse at the intersection of Spring Street S.E. and Green Street.

PLEASE NOTE THAT DIRECTIONS HAVE CHANGED DUE TO CONSTRUCTION AROUND THE COURTHOUSE AND THE CLOSURE OF GREEN STREET.

Directions to the Sidney O. Smith Jr. Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Gainesville, GA:

From Interstate 985
Exit to U.S. Hwy. 129 (Exit 22) and turn north. U.S. Hwy. 129 is also called E.E. Butler Pkwy.
Follow E.E. Butler Pkwy. to Washington St.
Turn left on Washington St. to Main St.
Turn left on Main St. to Spring St. S.E.
Turn left on Spring St. S.E., and the courthouse will be on the left.
The parking garage will be on your right.

From Cumming and Highway 400
Follow GA Highway 369 (Jesse Jewell Pkwy) east to West Academy St.
Turn left on West Academy St.
Follow West Academy St. two blocks, and turn right on Spring St. S.E.
The courthouse will be on the left after passing the downtown square.
The parking garage will be on your right.

From Dawsonville
Follow GA Hwy. 53, which will become John Morrow Pkwy.
Follow John Morrow Pkwy. until the intersection of Hwy. 369 (Jesse Jewell Parkway).
Turn left on Hwy. 369 to West Academy St.
Turn left on West Academy St. to Spring St. S.E.
Turn right on Spring St. S.E.
The courthouse will be on the left after passing the downtown square.
The parking garage will be on your right.

From Dahlonega
Follow Georgia Hwy. 60 South.
Continue onto E.E. Butler Pkwy. to Broad St. S.E.
Turn right on Broad St. S.E.
The parking garage is on your right.
The courthouse will be diagonally across Spring St. on the 2nd level of the parking garage.

From Cleveland
Follow U.S. Hwy. 129 South.
Continue straight onto State Hwy. 11 South.
From any lane turn slightly left onto Green St.
Continue onto E.E. Butler Pkwy. to Broad St. S.E.
Turn right on Broad St. S.E.
The parking garage is on your right.
The courthouse will be diagonally across Spring St. on the 2nd level of the parking garage.
