The United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia is pleased to announce that it has selected John H. Rains IV to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Magistrate Judge Walter E. Johnson in Rome, Georgia. Mr. Rains will assume the duties of a United States magistrate judge on August 25, 2025, following his formal appointment. He most recently has served as a partner with Bondurant Mixson & Elmore LLP. He previously served as a law clerk to Judge Ed Carnes on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
