Friday, October 16, 2020

On September 30, 2020, after more than 40 years of distinguished service to our Court, the Federal Judiciary, and the people of Georgia and the United States, the Honorable Orinda D. Evans assumed inactive status as a Senior United States District Judge. Judge Evans was a pioneering figure in the history of our court and leaves behind a proud legacy of accomplishment and public service. Although no longer on the bench, she remains a friend and colleague to all our judges, and we wish her the best in this next chapter of her life. Cases assigned to Judge Evans at the time of her departure have been randomly reassigned consistent with court procedures.
