Court to Host Legal Writing CLEs on October 1, 2019 with Ross Guberman

Thursday, September 5, 2019

On Tuesday, October 1, 2019, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia and the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association will present two 3-hour legal writing CLEs at the State Bar of Georgia, 104 Marietta Street, N.W., Atlanta, Georgia 30303.

Renowned speaker and author Ross Guberman, who is president of Legal Writing Pro, the creator of Brief Catch, and the writing trainer for all new federal judges, will present both programs.

Morning CLE for Experienced Litigators

The morning program, Point Made: How to Write Like the Nation’s Best Advocates, is intended for more experienced litigation attorneys and focuses on brief writing. The cost to register for this seminar is $100 ($75 for FBA members), which includes three hours of Georgia CLE credit and a copy of the speaker’s book Point Made:  How to Write Like the Nation’s Best Advocates.

Afternoon CLE for Younger or Less-Experienced Attorneys

The afternoon program, Four Steps to Standout Legal Writing, is designed for less experienced practitioners and should be a helpful course for law firm associates in all practice areas. Registration for this seminar is $60 ($50 for FBA and State Bar YLD members). This fee covers three hours of Georgia CLE credit and a copy of the same book that is being provided to the morning attendees. (NOTE:  Any member of the Georgia Bar who is less than 36 years of age or who has been admitted less than five years to any bar is automatically a member of the YLD.)

Registration, Parking, and Complimentary Reception

Registration for both CLEs is through the Atlanta Chapter of the Federal Bar Association’s website at http://www.fedbaratlanta.org/events.php. We regret that we are unable to cancel a registration or return a registration fee once entered.

Parking is complimentary for all attendees. Attendees of either session are invited to a reception hosted by the judges of the Northern District of Georgia beginning at 5:00 p.m.

These programs are expected to sell out quickly. A flyer is available here.
