Cogent Subscribers Experience Difficulties With Access to CM/ECF
Late yesterday afternoon Sprint stopped internet peering connections it maintains with Cogent, a major Internet service provider. As a result, no law firm, or no public person who uses Cogent can get to any of the public court sites or CM/ECF. Similarly, no e-mail traffic from a court site will be received by Cogent subscribers. While there is no technical fix for this issue, the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts is looking into what legal or contractual recourse the Judiciary has to require Sprint to restore internet communication with Cogent.
