Notice in RE: RECAP Software Usage

Attention Pacer Users

There has been widespread news coverage lately on the usage of a software application or "plug-in" called RECAP. The Administrative Office of the US Courts is examining how the software operates to ascertain whether there are policy or security implications. The Court cautions all CM/ECF Pacer users that the full implications of using RECAP or related-software are as yet unknown, including whether restricted documents could be inadvertently made available on the public Internet.
